The Pangode Grama Panchayat budget for the financial year 2026-27 is one that gives equal importance to development and public welfare. Analyzing it financially, the expected income is ₹51,76,77,000, while the expected expenditure is estimated at ₹53,25,05,000. The budget has been prepared by including the previous year's balance of ₹2,71,76,305. A closing balance of ₹1,23,48,305 is expected at the end of the financial year. This budget has been formulated by precisely allocating the various grants and project shares alongside the Panchayat's own revenue.
A significant amount has been earmarked for the production sector and infrastructure development. ₹82 lakhs have been set aside for the progress of agriculture, animal husbandry, and small-scale industries. This includes schemes like the distribution of poultry to women, development of various crops, and subsidies for self-employment ventures to increase women's income. For infrastructure development, ₹4.92 crores have been allocated. Along with road maintenance and drinking water projects, this includes ₹15 lakhs specifically for the construction of the Leninkunnu Anganwadi building.
In this year's budget, the Pangode Panchayat has given the highest priority to housing construction. Approximately ₹8 crores have been allocated to provide homes for the homeless through the LIFE Mission and PMAY projects. This includes the shares from State-District-Block Panchayats and HUDCO loans. Furthermore, the budget envisions measures to provide land and houses to over 300 landless and homeless individuals.
The budget aims to bring qualitative changes to the health, education, and social welfare sectors. ₹45 lakhs have been set aside to improve evening OP services at the Bharathannoor PHC and to provide assistance to dialysis patients. ₹60 lakhs have been allocated for education and welfare activities. These funds will be utilized for the maintenance of BUDS schools, Anganwadi nutritional programs, and providing laptops and study room facilities for SC/ST students. Special projects for the differently-abled and the elderly are also part of this.
The budget places special emphasis on waste management and the employment guarantee scheme. ₹29.72 lakhs have been set aside for waste management activities initiated under the title "Clean Pangode, Green Pangode." As part of this, the operation of the Haritha Karma Sena will be strengthened, and CCTV cameras will be installed to prevent waste dumping in public places. Development activities worth ₹8 crores are targeted through the Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS). Along with ensuring 100 working days for 1,460 people, environmental conservation activities will also be undertaken.
The efficient distribution of social security pensions is another notable aspect of this budget. A sum of ₹14.64 crores is expected for the distribution of pensions to 6,101 beneficiaries in the Panchayat. Additionally, ₹30 lakhs have been specifically allocated for the Women’s Protection Pension scheme.
